What we do

Our activities are related to applications of the D&B Tech devices which generate highly efficient bubble flow (aeration and wastewater treatment, transfer processes, separation, mixing, etc.).

An appropriate choice of materials for each case and a novel anti-clogging system allow these devices to operate in extreme conditions: particle laden fluid, salt water and acids, producing bubbles of less than 100 microns in diameter.

D&B Tech develops its own technologies (or on customer's demand) in the field of two-phase flow (liquid or gas flows with solid particles, drops or bubbles).

We also perform numerical simulations (CFD), consulting and design of equipment for industries such as chemical engineering or cultivation of microalgae and aquaculture in general.

 

Our main lines of work are:

FLUID-MECHANICAL DESIGN OF CULTURE TANKS FOR AQUACULTURE AND MICROALGAE

We perform fluid mechanical designs for aquaculture and microalgae rearing tanks.

DIFFUSER FLOW

We have developed cross-flow diffusers for:

    • Solutions of gases in liquids for Wastewater Treatment.
    • Dilution of oxygen and CO2 in Aquaculture Facilities.

DIFFUSERS FOR SEPARATION PROCESSES

The air diffusers we have developed can also be applied in separation and purification of fluids (skimmers). Following this line of research, we are beginning to conduct studies to make the necessary changes in their geometry for applications in water treatment and separation processes in the chemical industry.

For these last applications, it is essential an average size in the generated bubbles of less than 100 microns in diameter.

The current separation systems are very inefficient from an energetical point of view and there are also operating difficulties in working with complex multiphase fluids.

For this study we are in contact with major petrochemicals companies.

MICROEMULSIONS AND MICROFOAMS

We also hope to be successful in the microfoams generation techniques we are developing.

The objective is to market crossflow devices for applications in the cosmetic and food industry and also in new materials manufacture.

SCIENTIFIC CONSULTING

Simultaneously with the above projects and developments, another of our lines of business is scientific consulting for businesses interested in processes of drops and bubbles generation, especially for those seeking energy efficiency as the main objective of the production process in question.

Regarding this area of our activity, it is remarkable our involvement in a development project for a multinational company interested in systems which can be integrated in its gas facilities.
